Cake arrive fast as expected, but it looks like the ice pack wasn't enough to control it from the Texas heat. I started peeling the plastic off and it took most of the top layer of fondant/icing with it. So I put it in the fridge as directed and checked it an hour later, it was still sticking to the plastic. So its has currently been in the fridge for 5 1/2 hrs and it actually seems to be sticking even more to the plastic. But I know Gambinos can only control the temperature changes so much, and as Emeril Lagasse would say "it doesn't matter what it looks like as long as it tastes good" I think Gambinos should use dry ice for it that will keep it from getting wet.

I remember growing up in New Orleans and getting so excited when Mama used to stop by Gambino's to pick up a Doberge Cake! There is NOTHING like this anywhere else in the world. These cakes are good for all of our family's special occaision...Christmas, Mardi Gras, Birthdays, or just because! To top off the experience, Mama would always get me a few petit fours to have on the way home. Now that I live in Texas is SO very nice to share this experience with my friends an family here. Thank you Gambino's for so many awesome memories! LEON
